Hope everyone has dug out! With this last snow storm came yet another snow day! Here are some things we did this week.
- Our 3rd round of Reading Interventions is in full swing.
- We worked on counting coins and making change by using the counting up method. Children got to practice this strategy using an open number line.
- In reading, we focused on a poem about a child moving even though he really liked where he was living. This was a nice lead into teaching the children about theme, also known the author's message.
- Many children are finishing up on their opinion pieces and beginning new ones.
- Wednesday we had our Global Play Day.
- Information about winter parent/teacher conferences will be coming home on Monday. Please be sure to sign up online or fill in the form to schedule a time for us to meet. This is a great opportunity for us to jointly focus on your child and how they are doing in second grade.
- On Friday we read a book and learned about plot, retelling the beginning, middle and end.
- Have a great weekend!
